Princess Shelby/Rapunzel/Cinderella/Tiana/Belle

Shelby's third birthday party was on Saturday, September 15, 2012.  It was filled with great food, fun friends, and multiple scheduled wardrobe changes.  I had just bought a new lens on the way to her party (this baby) with birthday gift cards and was super excited to try it out.  I still need practice with it's power because it's different than the one I am used to.  It was perfect to try it out during a birthday party because there is so much to shoot.  There were homemade regular and chocolate marshmallows made by Aunt Becky's best friend and let me tell you, they were so delicious.

Outfit 1

Here's where I have trouble with it's power.  I'm not used to such a small depth of field, although I love it.  Pretzel: totally in focus.  Shelby's face: not so much.  I bought it for this ability and it's speed, I just didn't realize the huge difference until this picture.  Soon after, I got the hang of it a little better.  :)

Outfit 2

Shelby's toenail skills.
Aunt Sissy HANDMADE this!  I know, I know.  It's awesome.  Needless to say, this is outfit 3.

Her very own cake pop.
Correction: Her and Mitchell's very own cake pop.

Projector!

For Maggie's graduation (back in May), we had a Dr. Seuss themed party for her.  Oh, The Places You'll Go was the most relevant book so we focused on that.  Mom wanted to make something from the cover of the book with Maggie in the balloon, so I decided to paint something for her.  Jessica bought me an awesome projector and this was my first painting with it.  The projector is AWESOME!

I painted the castle and the ground but I printed, cut, and glued the small balloons on.  The big balloon was made from construction paper and a black Sharpie.  And Maggie, of course, was printed from a picture I took of her at her junior prom.  And, from that, came the masterpiece that you see now.  :)
