Thanksgiving 2012

This Thanksgiving our big sissy was home for the first time in what feels like forever.  It was nice.  Although this goes against my beliefs ;) , she prepared the turkey this year.  I didn't eat any, but it looked and smelled delicious and many people were fans.  Go Jess!  She was nervous but it turned out just right, so I hear.  She also stuffed it with stuffing, of course.  That's the bread and celery mixture.  Mom, Maggie, Jess, and I enjoyed cooking together this year.  Mom made her famous stuffing, deviled eggs, and fudge pie.  I made some Chinese Five Spice pecans that I have been making lately and Maggie just assisted all around in between sleeping in preparation for work.  She had to go in at midnight and got off at 9 a.m.

We went to visit Dad and Melanie and feasted at Cracker Barrel for the first Thanksgiving meal of the day.  We went to Sissy's for the second meal of the day.  It was great.  While Maggie was working, Mom was shopping all night long.  ALL night long.  She shopped from the time she dropped Maggie off at work until she picked her up and even some after.  Meanwhile, I was sleeping peacefully from midnight until 9 a.m. :)

Jules is sporting her new Christmas collar while waiting for Jessica's turkey.  She isn't the girly type, so I chose the one.  She likes it.

Jess and I made a pumpkin bread that Jess' sister-in-law, Stephanie, sent her.  She also sent a cute festive pumpkin pan. We tried to sprinkle powdered sugar on it as Stephanie suggested, but we aren't so good at that.  Nevertheless, the bread is DELICIOUS.  I am still eating it today because I took it all home with me.
